Although his profession as a commercial designer takes him all over the country, creating dazzling display areas for jewelry stores and other retail spaces, Jesse Balaity had never designed and built a house for himself, even though it was always on his mind.

He had been living in a peaceful neighborhood in Palmer Ranch for seven years when a friend (for whom Balaity had designed a pool house) convinced the young designer to think about moving to downtown Sarasota.

Fashion Forward Design Receives Tremendous Accolades

​

Sarasota, Fla, July 11, 2016: Robert Davie and Associates Landscaping, a 40-year veteran of landscape design was just featured as the main event in Landscape and Design Magazine for a recent renovation evoking a true fashion forward design concept.

​

“We created an entirely new space with a contemporary and clean feel and expanded the footprint out in three different directions” says Robert Davie.

​

The company specializes in the design and implementation of complete outdoor living spaces. This particular project was a redesign for a home that had a definite 90’s feel and was in need of a fashion- able facelift from top to bottom. This entailed a new pool, pool enclosure, spa and outdoor kitchen. The plans included several seating areas, water and fire features, landscape makeover and stunning LED lighting. The look can be described as Avant garde with touches such as canvas and steel cantilevered awnings and brushed stainless steel and wood columns.

“These columns are truly very custom pieces, a work of a craftsman” says Davie.

The landscape materials included a large selection of palms with contrasts in texture and ground orchids for color. Lighting is also a key element with LED tape lighting used throughout the outdoor area set in aluminum tracks and covered in translucent polycarbonate material. Some of the lights are consid- ered jewelry case style and create indirect lighting as they shine upwards to the awning.

SARASOTA,FL Ballard Design International wrapped up their Spring/Summer 2013 catalog shoot set among landscapes designed and implemented by Robert Davie of Robert Davie & Associates Landscaping, Inc. of Sarasota.

Residential properties selected for the photo shoot were designed and installed by Robert Davie & Associates including Lido Key, Old Forest Lakes, Cherokee Park and near Riverview High School were all featured as the setting for the outdoor furniture issue.

“I can make a $500,000 home look like a million- dollar home, and you don’t have to spend $1 million to do it.”

Furthermore, regarding value, Robert comments that “A professional decorator coming into your house will pick out a palette for your walls, carpet, furnishings, fabric and drapes. You do the same thing for a landscape and plan you textures accordingly.”

One of the keys is to design a landscape whose beauty as well as monetary value, appreciate over time: “The right plants are going to grow in relation to the other plants in the landscape so that your design appreciates over time and the integrity of the plan doesn’t disintegrate.”

SARASOTA, Florida – April 19, 2012 – A new book entitled “Water Gardens, Landscape Design Series” features Robert Davie & Associates Landscaping, the book includes projects from some of the finest international architects, landscape architects, designers and artists from around the world.

 

Martin Mosko, of Marpa Landscape Design Studio, describes the book in the preface as the “art of water… from some of the world’s top designers…” whose work reflects “the intersection of art and craft.”

Tianjin Ifeng Space Media Company edited the publication to just 20 design firms from such diverse locales as Thailand, Lebanon, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Netherlands, Costa Rica and Qatar. Space Media Co selected Robert Davies’ New Orleans inspired landscape project for the book – the landscape is located in Sarasota Florida.
